Cause Champions: Roland Family and Child Sponsorships
Follow the Roland family— Krista, Brian, Kyla, Ryleigh, and Valya— as they share their 20-year story of becoming involved with child sponsorship. The journey all started with one child sponsorship as a part of giving back from their personal business. Today, the Rolands have sponsored over 250 children, and the whole family has been overseas to meet many of them in person and continue a special relationship with communities in Senegal and Rwanda.

Roland Family Part 1: A Calling to Sponsorship
The Rolands begin formulating how to give back through their unique corporate benefits business. With every client their business gains, they decide to sponsor a child overseas. In a new season of focus helping children overseas, Brian and Krista learn of an opportunity to adopt a teenager in Ukraine in 2014. By 2021, all three of their girls share in serving families in need in Phoenix through The Family Room ministry, as well as communicating overseas with the 250 children their family now sponsors. Watch the Rolands become impassioned for the cause of helping children reach new experiences and dreams.

Roland Family Part 2: Connecting to Impact in Africa
9,000 miles from their home in Scottsdale, the Roland family changes cultures and embeds themselves in the livelihood of the sponsored kids in a small village in Rwanda with African Oasis Foundation. Brian discusses selling their business and gifting a portion of the closely-held business interest to a donor advised fund at The Signatry. The unique charitable gift helps set up their generosity to more greatly impact the cause of child sponsorship and poverty alleviation for the nonprofits they support.
