All Donors Are Different
Have you met one major donor? Kristin Hammett shares how it may be misleading to take what you learned and apply it again. Interacting with donors takes a lot of refinement, but the biggest key is listening. If you have met one major donor, then you have met one major donor.
They are each unique in what they want to hear, how they want to hear it, and how frequently they want to be in the know on your organization’s work. They may want to donate through different methods, be invited to select events, or be left alone. It is up to you to develop the relationship outside of a single strategic vision for major donor development.
